The Y Window System : Color Model

Y applications treat all colors as RGBA (Red/Green/Blue/Alpha) entities, with 8 bits per channel. All operations, such as dithering or alpha compositing, are handled by ylib "under the hood."

But Y doesn't limit the application writer to thinking in terms of the RGB color space. Other color spaces, such as HSV, HLS, and CMYK are available.
