Part A

The Two-wire open line media has several wires each insulated from the others and they are open to free space. Typical a voltage is applied to the wire for signaling. This media is limited greatly in the bit rates and the length limit.

Part B

In twisted pair wires are twisted for better immunity to noise. TP is limited under 1Mbps rates on over 100m distances.

Part C

Coaxial cable is a center conductor surrounded by a insulating outer cover. The cable is basically a large capacitor so it well shielded from radiation. Coaxial has some problems with data security.

Part D

Optical fiber is a thin fiber of glass that light travels through to transport signals. The fiber is expensive to install and expensive to repair.

Part E

Microwave signal through the air using microwave EM beam. This media can be disturbed very easily by uncontrollable things such as weather.

A NEXT canceler is a circuit that is designed to reduce or remove cross talk cause be the strong transmitter near the weak receiver. With a circuit like this on a DTE it means that the transmitter can put out a very large signal and not have to worry about NEXT, a more powerful signal means more bandwidth.
